There is a general belief that liposuction is the cure for those who wish to achieve their ideal weight. For some, it can be the optimal solution to their weight problem, and they may obtain the body they have always dreamed of. However, for others, liposuction is only the beginning of a long and arduous journey toward their goal. Weight loss after liposuction can only occur through lifestyle modification. Those who experience the procedure must alter their eating habits and increase their level of physical exercise. Studies have shown that individuals who engage in healthy eating habits and a routine exercise regime are more likely to experience weight loss after liposuction than those who do not. Weigh Loss After LiposuctionWill Weight Loss Affect Liposuction Results?
Weight loss after liposuction procedures does not affect the results. Liposuction involves permanently removing a certain amount of fat cells from localized parts of the body. However, a significant increase in food intake may affect the remaining fat cells, eventually causing increased weight, but most likely not be as much as before the procedure.

Recovery after Liposuction
Although many may be eager to experience increased weight loss after liposuction, it is advisable to allow ample healing time first. The recovery period after such a procedure differs amongst patients, but it is imperative that proper recovery guidelines be strictly adhered to. Recovery involves plenty of rest, fluids and abiding by a physician's orders. An exercise routine for a recovering liposuction patient should not consist of anything more than walking. Slowly work your way back to your exercise routine and do not push yourself. Normal exercise routines should only be resumed after a month in order to prevent opening of stitches and moisture-related infections. Although the body's new shape emerges in the first few weeks, some swelling can take several months to dissipate.
